Studying of Pavement Layers for Sharjah to Ras Al Khaimah Road

The design of this 83km long 4-lane divided carriageway from Sharjah to Ras Al Khaimah included the following

• Review of the design of the existing two carriageways and available existing related data.
• Conducted detailed visual survey by collecting comprehensive visual and manual measurements on the condition of pavement and shoulders, other features and drainage. Analyzed the surface condition in relation to materials used and to determine causes of failure and produced treatment recommendations and corrective measures and cost estimates.
• Conducted traffic volume counts for heavy vehicles with axle categories for both carriageways.
• Conducted random weighing survey of heavy vehicles using portable weighbridge on both carriageways.
