Hatta Pumped Storage Hydropower Plant

Service Provided: Design, Design Validation, Engineer of Record and Traffic Access Study

The proposed hydroelectric power plant is the first of its kind in the Middle East, with 250MW Power generation capacity utilizing water stored in existing dam/reservoir with a storage capacity of 1,716 million gallons. The project includes construction of an upper dam/reservoir with water storage capacity of 880 million gallons. During off-peak hours, pumps will use solar and conventional energy to pump water from the lower dam/reservoir (existing) to the upper dam/reservoir. During peak-load hours, reversible turbines, operated by the speed of waterfall from the upper reservoir, will be used to generate electricity. Generated electricity will be connected to DEWA’s grid.

Jouzy’s scope of work includes but is not limited to traffic access study, transport tunnels & culvert bridges and access roads.
