Jouzy | Axianta was selected, alongside Artelia and Austrian construction leader Strabag, to deliver design consultancy services for the first hydropower plant in the UAE. This landmark assignment strengthened the firm's position in complex, multidisciplinary infrastructure and utility engineering and underscored its ability to collaborate successfully on technically demanding projects of national significance.

The Deep Tunnel Project in Dubai

Jouzy | Axianta was awarded a subcontract role on the Deep Tunnel Project in association with COWI and the BESIX design-build team. The project was designed to serve the Al Maktoum Airport area, the Expo 2020 site, and nearby urban developments across approximately 400 square kilometers.

Jouzy | Axianta was selected for a five-star hotel in Downtown Dubai next to Burj Khalifa, while also securing several design and supervision assignments in LEGOLAND, Bollywood Parks, IMG Theme Park, and Hub Zero. These projects reflected a strategic broadening of the firm's portfolio into premium hospitality and destination-driven developments.

Major Housing Developments in Hatta and Oud Al Muteena

The Mohammed Bin Rashid Housing Establishment selected Jouzy | Axianta for the design and supervision of all infrastructure and buildings for two major housing developments in Hatta and Oud Al Muteena. This milestone highlighted the firm's integrated capabilities across both infrastructure and building design.

Doha, Empower, Yemen, and Basra

2013 was a year of significant regional diversification. Jouzy | Axianta's Doha office was selected for PM/CM consultancy services during the pre-tender phase of the Doha Metro Gold Line. In the UAE, the firm secured its first district cooling contract, beginning a long-standing relationship with Empower. It also expanded into Yemen through World Bank-funded infrastructure projects and established a presence in Basra, Iraq to pursue healthcare and bridge opportunities.

2012

Transformative Merger and Doha Metro Gold Line

2012 marked a major turning point for the firm. Jouzy entered a transformative new chapter through its merger with U.S.-based Axianta International, expanding its regional capability and service offerings. In the same year, the joint entity was selected to provide project and construction management services for the pre-tender of the prestigious Doha Metro Gold Line in Qatar in partnership with Queiroz Galvão and Andrade Gutierrez.

A Landmark Year Across Architecture, Healthcare, Recovery, and Urban Infrastructure

1992 stands out as one of the most important years in Jouzy's history. The firm received the prestigious Aga Khan Award for Architecture for the East Wahdat Upgrading Program. In the same year, Jouzy secured a 232-bed general hospital in Gaza, contributed to multiple sectors under Lebanon's National Emergency Recovery Program, and delivered engineering services for the Al Muraqqabat Residential District and Al Rigga Street in Dubai.

Multi-Year Water System Leakage Detection and Network Rehabilitation in Dubai

Over a six-year period, Jouzy was awarded a multi-year, multi-million-dollar program in Dubai focused on water system leakage detection and water network restitution / rehabilitation, demonstrating the firm's long-term contribution to essential public utility systems.

In 1991, Jouzy was awarded the Master Plan for Water Supply to Dubai City and the design of an 83 km, four-lane divided highway between Sharjah and Ras Al Khaimah, reflecting the breadth of its work across both utility planning and transportation infrastructure.

In 1987, Jouzy opened its Dubai office, a pivotal move that helped position the company at the center of the UAE’s growth. In the same year, the firm was awarded the Al Salam 60-bed General Hospital in Abu Dhabi, further reinforcing its healthcare credentials.

Jouzy was awarded the contract for the design of the Jordan Embassy and Ambassador Residence in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, adding to its portfolio of prestigious diplomatic and institutional work.

Shanay Village and Arab Bank Expansion

Design work began for Shanay Village in Mount Lebanon, while Jouzy also secured the first of multiple commissions for the design and supervision of Arab Bank branches in Lebanon and later in other countries across the Middle East.

Jouzy completed infrastructure services for a new community in Adheiba, Oman, further expanding its regional footprint in community planning and infrastructure engineering.

Roads, Healthcare, and Agricultural Development

Jouzy secured multiple major commissions in 1980, including the design and construction of a 4-lane dual carriageway linking the Sharjah–Ras Al Khaimah highway to Kharran, the design and supervision of the Al-Ahli Hospital in Hebron and the Al Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem, and the Dibba Fruit Farm agricultural development project in the UAE.

College of Engineering and Architecture at Najah University

Jouzy continued its momentum in Palestine with the award for the College of Engineering and Architecture at Najah University in Nablus, adding to its growing credentials in education and institutional design.

A Strong Year Across the UAE, Jordan, and Lebanon

In 1978, Jouzy secured the Fujairah–Khor Fakkan Expressway and Khor Fakkan Flood Protection Scheme, the Water Resources Management Master Plan in Lebanon funded by JICA, and the storage ponds at the Mujib and Southern Ghors Irrigation Project in Jordan.

Education, Healthcare, Transportation, and Environmental Infrastructure

1977 was another multi-sector year for Jouzy, including the Shmeissany Interchange in Amman, the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at the University of Jordan, a nurses' hostel for Jordan University Hospital, and sewerage and river pollution control works in Damascus and Homs.

Royal Jordanian Air Force and Aqaba Port Expansion

In 1976, Jouzy landed one of its first air force base projects with the Royal Jordanian Air Force and was also awarded the prestigious Aqaba Port Expansion Project by Jordan’s Ministry of Transport.

The Sharjah–Al Dhaid Highway and Major Desert Road Corridors

Shortly after establishing its presence in the UAE, Jouzy was awarded the Sharjah–Al Dhaid Highway, involving the design and construction supervision of a 50 km, four-lane highway, together with additional roadway works extending through Al Dhaid, Mileiha, the Madame Plain, and the desert corridor toward Filli and Hayya. This was one of the firm’s strongest early UAE infrastructure milestones.

Award-Winning Civic Design and Early Power Infrastructure

In 1974, Jouzy won an award for the design of the Amman Chamber of Commerce in Jordan, while the Doha Steam Power Station in Kuwait became one of the firm’s earliest major power station projects.

Establishing UAE Presence and Saudi Coast Guard Projects

1973 marked the beginning of Jouzy’s rich history in the Gulf. The company founded its first regional branch in Sharjah, UAE. In the same year, the firm expanded its regional presence by securing the design of the wastewater systems and water supply infrastructure for the Coast Guard facilities in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

Expanding into Oman, Libya, Bahrain, and Saudi Arabia

1972 marked a major year of regional expansion. Jouzy entered Oman with a property development in Ruwi, entered Libya with the design of the Shell warehouse and offices in Zawia, and established an early presence in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia through residential and coastal development work.
